How do you create peace in your neighbourhood?

Neighbours can be somehow like a safety net or up to complete strangers. Often there are also differences between being a neighbour in a big city or a neighbour in the countryside.

Neighbourhood peace services are often about helping, sharing, celebrating and being considerate.

Similar to family, different cultures have different neighbourhood customs that reinforce a sense of peace, togetherness and familiarity among neighbours.

My neighbour is much older than me and so it is natural for me to shovel snow for him. I do it with pleasure.

We decorate the neighbours' front door at a wedding. For this we meet three times at the bride and groom's house: once to measure the wreath, once to put it on and once to take it down a few weeks after the wedding. Each meeting is like a small celebration.

Then everyone has more time than just for a quick chat in the stairwell.
